Update on SMaRT's Green Aluminium technology

In this video, Prof Veena provides an update on SMaRT's ambitions in progressing its exciting new Green Aluminium technology.

SMaRT is currently partnering with a regional council to built its first Green Aluminium MICROfactorieTM  outside of UNSW to advance the research, development and commercialisation of its Thermal Disengagement Technology that sits behind this MICROfactorieTM module.

This technology can recover from complex and multi-layered waste food packaging, such as chip bags and coffee pods, the aluminium it contains without producing emissions.

This methods reduces the huge impacts traditional aluminium manufacturing causes, in terms of energy and resources needed and the effects to the environment and communities.
