The UNSW SMaRT Centre has joined the 'masterclass series in sustainable procurement' hosted by the federal Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water.
SMaRT's Head of MICROfactorieTM Technologies, Mr Anirban Ghose, gives a 10 minute video presentation overview of SMaRT and explains how waste doesn't have to be recycled back into its original purpose.
He outlines a range of innovative examples and is joined by other leading experts who also give presentations about how to create a circular economy and be more sustainable.
The Department says of the series:
"Including recycled materials and other environmental sustainability requirements in procurement projects can seem challenging. Sustainable procurement is an evolving concept and peer guidance can dispel many of the myths associated with environmental sustainability.
"Our masterclass series provides practical insights from experts in the field. We explain important concepts and demonstrate opportunities and benefits of buying recycled and sustainable products.
"Learn from panellists with diverse industry and government experience."
