Rethinking Waste: Designing a Circular Economy

On 19 March 2024, UNSW SMaRT Centre Director, Professor Veena, will speak at the Rethinking Waste: Designing a Circular Economy seminar about the importance of using waste as a resource to achieve greater sustainability.

Veena will also share her vision for a sustainable future, highlight the importance of creating a circular economy and how using waste as a resource - including various UNSW SMaRT Centre innovations - must be at the centre of future manufacturing needs.

Our panel of innovators and disruptors are challenging conventional views to find value in unlikely places. They’ll share their thoughts on systems change and provide real-world examples of what’s worked and what hasn’t. It will be an evening filled with insightful discussions, sustainable treats, and networking opportunities as we gain valuable insights into how waste transformation has added value to business, people and planet. 

Timing: 4.30pm for a 5pm start. Main event 5pm – 6.30pm, followed by networking until 7pm.
Format: Short presentation followed by a panel discussion moderated by BWD and a Q&A at the end
