CNBC's IOT: Enabling Sustainability Through Technology

UNSW SMaRT Centre Director Prof Veena spoke at CNBC's IOT Powering the Digital Economy: Enabling Sustainability Through Technology session at the Innovation Summit Sydney on 17 March 2025.

In a panel discussion about "Enabling Sustainability Through Technology", Veena shared her vision for a sustainable future, highlighting the importance of creating a circular economy and how using waste as a resource must be at the centre of our manufacturing future and innovative decarbonisation efforts, in collaboration between researchers and industry.

She highlight that using recycling innovations such as UNSW SMaRT Centre's MICROfactorie^TM Technologies and its Green Steel^TM Polymer Injection Technology that recover valuable materials from waste and reform them into new manufacturing feedstock and products are central to help achieve the sustainability needed for the future.
